Mister Sunshine’s reopens its doors, newly renovated and ready for locals to come in, slow down and enjoy a new menu full of fresh, wholesome food.

New owners, Edwin Comey and Prue Olsen, have harnessed the potential which previous owners Allison Smiles and Caren Elliss saw in the venue. Comey and Olsen have completely changed the vibe of  Mister Sunshine’s to personify the free-spirited owners themselves.

“It’s a place for people to come in, stay and relax in a warm, cozy environment,” Olsen said.

Comey and Olsen found inspiration from countless cafes around the country during their one year trek through Australia. They lived from their van with their young daughter Edith and found the coolest cafes from Tasmania all the way up to Queensland. Using their expertise from the trip, they have now implemented their favourite features from cafes around the country into one homestyle restaurant, Mister Sunshine’s.

All their dishes are homemade and sourced only from the best products in Australia.  Even better, you won’t find a meal more than $12! Not to mention, they only serve the best quality of Degroot coffee.

For breakfast you can order anything from pan fried chorizo to french toast. The lunch menu also includes a variety of options, like a roast chicken pie or the warm haloumi salad pictured above filled with roast pumpkin and topped with warm pan toasted seeds. Vegan, gluten and dairy free options are all available upon request.

Mister Sunshine’s could be the next best brunch and lunch spot, but we will let you be the judge. So go and try it out for yourself!

Mister Sunshine’s is Open: Wednesday-Friday from 7:30am-4pm, and on the weekends from 8am-3pm.
