With the warmer weather slowly starting to creep in we are ready to embrace new heights and take our love of cocktails onwards and upwards. Lucky for us, word on the street is there are four to five slick new bars opening in Adelaide soon, and one of those happens to be an incredible new rooftop bar called, Florence.
We got access to the new venue ahead of the opening tonight to check out Florence Rooftop Bar and Kaffana restaurant (which sits on the ground floor) in Gilbert Place and from what we’ve seen it’s going to be epic! To access the bar, you’ll walk through the restaurant and take a flight of stairs which lands you in this cosy bar space with timber flooring, exposed stone walls and a door which leads out into the huuuge tiled rooftop area. There’s a vertical garden and timber bar stools and tables spread out nicely. Eventually there will be retractable roof which will allow for all-weather partying too. They’re also in the process of building a laneway to Peel Street so you can enter via Peel Street or Gilbert Place but for now, entry is through the new Kaffana restaurant.
While Adelaide is no stranger to a quality rooftop bars — think 2KW, Hennessy, The Gallery — Florence Bar will be bringing the wow factor, plus you’re guaranteed it’ll be a sweet spot for a selfie or three.
Florence Rooftop Bar is located on Gilbert Place, next door to Hains & Co. There’s no signage yet, but you’ll no doubt find the party from 6pm onwards.

You’ll find Florence at 27 to 29 Gilbert Place in the city. You can also enter via Peel Street through the laneway.
