Come one, come all! Feast Festival has officially unveiled its Silver 25th Anniversary program for 2022.
Celebrating with the LGBTQIA+ Community, Feast is Adelaide’s not-for-profit Queer Arts and Cultural Festival that celebrates Pride and Diversity. The program is bursting with 100+ events to roll out over the course of “Pridevember”, Feast’s month-long celebration of inclusivity and queerness.
“In its 25th year, Feast continues to welcome participation from all LGBTIQA+ artists and event organisers. Feast is renowned and respected nationally and internationally for its artistic excellence, originality, vision and ambition and this significant anniversary is an opportunity to reflect upon what has been achieved for the LGBTIQA+ community as well as what still needs to change,” said Feast General Manager, Helen Sheldon.

From Cabaret to comedy, Drag, music, and visual arts; the jam-packed tantalising program will have something to entice and provoke thought and feelings no matter which way you want to celebrate!
Superstar Jack Vidgen delivers an unforgettable Diva’esque show performing the best of the 80’s and 90’s with a little Whitney, Tina and Chaka thrown in for good measure – Diva Energy is Jack Vidgen’s long awaited return to the Adelaide stage.
Hot-steppin’ hoofer, Rhonda Burchmore joins one of the country’s finest jazz ensembles the Jack Earle Big Band for A Red-Hot Swingin Christmas – presenting a spectacular holiday concert featuring dazzling arrangements and paying homage to the great swing masters. The undisputed Queen of Christmas will exhilarate audiences with red-hot renditions of the holiday hits.
Karen From Finance is in trouble! She’s cooked the books and has been thrown into the slammer. Karen’s sophomore one-woman show DOING TIME puts our girl on trial in this hilarious follow-up to her award-winning debut OUT OF OFFICE. With support from Drag icon Tammie Brown, DOING TIME will be the talk of law books for years to come!

The Official Pride March Adelaide (followed by Feast Opening Night Carnival) brings together thousands of families and friends on November 5th as they take to the streets of Adelaide to celebrate LGBTQIA+ creativity, diversity, inclusivity and history. Led by a parade of motorcycles and First Australians, Pride March Adelaide features a DJ pumping out queer anthems to get you dancing in the street. This year promises to be louder and prouder than ever!
The Writing Live series presents Write Blak, an event that invites you to immerse yourself in pride, expression, and the spoken word of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait LGBTQIA+ Community. Grab a coffee or a beer, perhaps even a bite to eat, and relax in the gorgeous surroundings of The Jade in Adelaide’s CBD.
Delve into a generational discussion of queers across the years, with a panel of local queer writers. On the 25th anniversary year of the festival, Feast explores the past and the future of queer writing, and our writers share readings based on this theme with Writing Live: Generations of Queer Writing.
In Conversation: Tim Reeves – The Death of Dr Duncan: Hear Tim Reeves in conversation with Greens parliamentarian Robert Simms as they talk about Tim’s book The Death of Dr Duncan, his participation in Adelaide Writers’ Week and as historical consultant to the oratorio Watershed. A moving discussion of the extraordinary events of a year that commemorated the beginning of gay law reform in South Australia and the nation.
For a visual treat, artist Tony Kastanos delivers From Mars Bar to Mardi Gras; a series of paintings painted under plastic. Celebrating his dance floor memories from 1979 to 2017 it documents the celebratory culture since the legalisation of homosexuality in the 1970’s. Icons of gay men at different ages throughout the time of HIV/AIDS, including George Michael.
If swift is your preferred setting, then Rapid Fire is a winner -5 minutes. 12 writers. A fast-paced celebration of language, storytelling, and the spoken word. 12 South Australian writers have 5 minutes each to win the audience’s hearts and minds. Expect laughter, spit-fire words, and probably some chaos in this fabulously funny event.

Opening Night Carnival | 5 November
Join the team for an unforgettable night of queer entertainment celebrating the official start of the Feast Festival. Set in the beautiful Northern end of Victoria Square celebrate the night with a cavalcade of entertainment hosted by SA comedy great Lori Bell.
Headlining the entertainment will be Eurovision sensation, Sheldon Riley. There will be a flamboyance of live entertainment and DJs helping to celebrate as our LGBTQIA+ rainbow brightens the sky throughout the month of Pridevember. All your beverage needs will be supplied by fabulous local brewers Little Bang Brew, Happenstance Gin, Auld Family Wines, and Mischief Brew. Our bars are run by SA locals, for SA locals with delicious drinks and frivolity!
Feast Festival 25th Birthday Gala | 12 November (NEW EVENT)

Feast Festival 25th Birthday Gala invites you to celebrate Feast Festival’s 25th birthday with a show full of glamour, comedy, and cabaret. A cocktail of Adelaide’s brightest stars will deliver a queer smorgasbord of entertainment with a dash of sparkle. Frock up before you rock up and let’s get this party started!
Pride at Plant 4 | 13 November

You’re invited to join Plant 4 to celebrate Feast Festival’s official 25th Birthday Party! Plant 4 will be transformed into a kid’s wonderland. To honour Feast’s 25th birthday, Feast Festival is hosting its first bake-off ever presented alongside TAFE SA and Woolworths, Let Them Feast! to celebrate all things rainbow and pride. Whether you’re a veteran pâtissier or a baking enthusiast, register now to show off your eye-catching and delicious tasting cakes to the world! The preliminary round will be held at the Regency Park Campus with the final round held at our yearly Picnic in the Park event to celebrate the end of a successful festival season.
