Adelaide’s racing community rallies for cystic fibrosis at Morphettville this May

Join Emmah Money, South Australia’s Local Hero, for a glamorous day at the races on 31 May 2025 at Morphettville Racecourse, to raise $65,000 for Cystic Fibrosis SA while launching a charity racehorse.

Morphettville Racecourse is set to host a day of colour, cause and community on Saturday 31 May as the racing world comes together in support of South Australians living with cystic fibrosis.

The event, A Day at the Races for CF Awareness, has been created by Emmah Money, South Australian Local Hero, author, motivational speaker and well-known advocate for those living with CF.

Known to many as ‘CF Mummy’, Emmah has turned her personal journey with cystic fibrosis into a platform for change, resilience and visibility. Her passion for raising awareness and helping others navigate the challenges of CF has made her a well-respected voice both locally and nationally.

Emmah’s latest mission is deeply personal. In partnership with her husband, renowned South Australian horse trainer Travis Doudle, the major sponsor for the event, she’s launching a charity racehorse with all prize money from its races directed straight to Cystic Fibrosis SA (CFSA).

It’s a unique initiative that will continue to deliver impact long after race day is over. This bold concept brings together their two worlds — racing and advocacy — in a way that has never been seen in South Australia before.

“After taking time to grow our family and navigate life with four kids and CF, I knew it was time to do something meaningful again. What better way than with my community and the racing industry behind me?” says Emmah.

The charity race day will be a vibrant affair, with over 130 guests expected to attend, including media, local personalities, and key supporters of the cause. The event includes live racing, a full sit-down lunch, premium drinks, entertainment, guest speakers and a live auction featuring luxury items and unforgettable experiences. Guests will also help mark 65 Roses Day, the national symbol for cystic fibrosis awareness.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-limiting genetic condition that causes persistent lung infections and makes breathing increasingly difficult over time. It affects every part of daily life, demanding intensive treatment, constant management and unwavering resilience.

With a fundraising target of $65,000, every dollar raised will go directly to CFSA, which provides vital services and support to individuals and families living with CF in South Australia.

Businesses are encouraged to get involved, with the opportunity to showcase their brand and align with a powerful community-driven initiative.

More than just a race day, this heartfelt event is set to leave a lasting legacy.
