Adelaide’s stand-out vegan festival returns this weekend

Adelaide’s stand-out vegan festival returns next month! The 2021 Vegan Festival Adelaide will run on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October in Rundle Park (Kadlitpina).

Celebrated by vegans nation-wide, South Australia’s biggest celebration of all things vegan is back this weekend, an event like no other for the v-curious, omnivores and plant-based enthusiasts.

The 2021 Vegan Festival Adelaide will run on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October in Rundle Park (Kadlitpina), sparking further interest in an eco-friendly future.

The event will boast a lineup of stellar national local guest speakers, over 70 market stalls of food, drink, everyday products and apparel, as well as interactive workshops, live music, cooking demos, and activities for the whole family using a blend of streamed and live programming.

Showcasing how simple it is to incorporate sustainable and vegan practices into daily life, Vegan Festival Adelaide say more people are participating in the event each year, and with a weekend full of delicious food, awesome activities and eye-opening conversations, why wouldn’t there be?

This year, the festival is seeing a spike in female-led trailblazers within the vegan movement. Women Warriors include organiser/activist and writer Kristy Alger, animal rights activist Tash Peterson, puppy-farm whistleblower Georgie Purcell and the first female Animal Justice Party MP, The Hon. Emma Hurst MLC, all inspiring the crowds to take a stand and do more for those who can’t speak for themselves.

Sharing their experiences as frontline animal rights activists are Sea Shepherd’s Haans Siver and company delving into their real life experiences as seen on the Netflix documentary Seaspiracy, along with fellow activist and politician Andy Meddick AJP, who’ll headline as speakers at the event.

Cooking demonstrations from Simon Toohey of the Freshly Picked TV series, Just Eat Plants’ Rebecca Stoner, and the amazing story of ‘heart attack to Ironman’ Adam Guthrie will show event-goers how easy it is to lead a healthy, plant-based lifestyle, without compromising on flavour.

Interactive panel discussions across the two-days will include topics of veg athleticism with Samuel Mussared and Amanda Meggison, vegans in politics with Kathy Divine, and a doctors for nutrition panel with cooking demo, all highlighting how being plant-based is valuable at any age.

Local musicians Cal Williams Jr, Florence Lang, Karaoke set, Chica Chica Electrica, will keep you entertained, whilst the kids are occupied at the KidsZone with monster mash halloween crafts, nature play, and chess inspired by the Queen’s Gambit.

Vegan Festival Adelaide is sure to bring people of all ages and cultures together in an effort to promote sustainable practices vital for our future health and planet. With something for absolutely everyone, this event is not to be missed.
