As the temperature drops, nothing says cool weather like a good ol’ hearty pub feed and live sport. This season, The District at SkyCity is serving up both, unveiling a new menu alongside a partnership with the Sammy D Foundation, bringing schnitzel back on the table for a good cause.
For a limited time, The District will donate $5 from every schnitzel meal sold to the Sammy D Foundation’s #Schnitty4Sam campaign, supporting efforts to end youth violence through education and mentoring programs.
It’s a cause close to home for Head Chef Sean Thomas, who said the team jumped at the chance to be involved.
“I lost a good friend in high school to a one-punch attack,” Thomas said.
“I understand how devastating these acts of violence are on families and friends. I’m proud SkyCity is getting involved, and I hope we can make a difference by doing it.”

The schnitzels, served with dill slaw, shoestring fries, and a choice of six toppings, will be available across both the Brewery and Sports Bar.
Jannine Jackson, CEO of the Sammy D Foundation, welcomed the venue’s ongoing support, praising both the quality of the schnitzels and the contribution to a vital cause.
“They’re not only some of the best in town, but they’re also helping to keep our young people safe,” Janine said.
“The simple act of eating a schnitty at The District means the Sammy D Foundation can reach more young people to promote partying wisely and end youth violence in our community.”

The schnitzel campaign is just one element of The District’s refreshed food offering, launching alongside a new menu of “crave-worthy,” “deliciously dirty” eats designed to pair with cold beer and a good time.
Thomas said the goal was to focus on shareable, easy-to-eat dishes that suit the venue’s energy.
“There are so many ‘pub’ options in the city, we wanted to focus in on what we do differently,” he said.
“Most of the dishes are designed to be eaten without cutlery, so it all pairs well with the energy we have with non-stop sports, live entertainment, and a great selection of beers.”

Menu highlights include three-cheese macaroni croquettes with caramelised onion and jalapeño cream, a South Coast pale ale-braised beef brisket roll, a trio of wagyu beef sliders, and poutine loaded fries with Pirate Life stout gravy.
The District also offers mid-week specials, including a $20 roll and beer deal on Wednesdays and $5 tacos with $6 pints on Thursdays during AFL games.
No need to brave the weather this winter. Instead, join the party at Adelaide’s ultimate entertainment venue and enjoy pumping live music, a cracking new menu, cold beer and big-screen sports, right in the heart of the CBD.
