Adelaide’s weather forecast for Saturday 3rd August

Adelaide is kicking off the day with a road warning alert due to heavy fog, followed by a mostly sunny day. Here’s what you can expect.

The South Australian Police has issued an early morning road weather alert warning for Adelaide due to dangerous driving conditions expected this Saturday. The alert, issued at 3:26am, highlighted reduced visibility resulting from fog throughout the morning.

The weather forecast for Saturday in Adelaide predicts a maximum temperature of 16°C after the morning fog clears, giving way to mostly sunny conditions. Rainfall is highly unlikely, with only a 10% chance of precipitation.

Looking ahead to Sunday, 4 August, Adelaide is expected to experience slightly warmer weather with a maximum of 17°C. The day might bring scattered showers, with the likelihood of rain at 40%. These shower conditions are forecasted to be more prevalent in the afternoon and evening.

Across South Australia, a ridge of high pressure is influencing weather conditions, lying across the southern parts of the state. Over the weekend, a trough is expected to move across SA from the west, which will clear by Monday as the high pressure ridge progresses eastwards ahead of an incoming cold front on Thursday.

For the remainder of Saturday, South Australians should expect patchy morning fog and possible early frost in the south. The southern coast areas might witness isolated light showers and even potential small hail early in the day. Moving west, areas of rain are anticipated to develop, especially over the far western regions. Maximum temperatures are predicted to be below average, with winds varying from southeast to northeast, shifting to westerly around southern coastal districts.

On Sunday, similar conditions will persist with morning fog in the south and early frost patches in the east. Rain is set to extend over the northern and western parts of the state, chiefly impacting the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts. Isolated showers may occur in central and eastern sections of the agricultural area. Temperatures will continue to remain below average with a transition in winds from southeast to northeasterly directions.

Today’s forecast for Adelaide Metropolitan and the Mount Lofty Ranges indicates similar morning fog conditions followed by mostly sunny skies in various locations. Elizabeth is expecting a maximum of 17°C along with Mount Barker, where residents will enjoy a mostly sunny day after the fog lifts.
