Adelaide’s weather forecast for Thursday December 12th and the weekend

Adelaide is set for a sunny day today, with a maximum temperature of 27 degrees and a low of 13 degrees, and the weather will remain mostly clear.

Adelaide is set for a sunny day today, with a maximum temperature of 27 degrees and a low of 13 degrees. The weather will remain mostly clear throughout the day, with light winds shifting from the southwesterly direction at 15 to 25 km/h by midday, then tending southeast to southwesterly later in the evening.

The current weather conditions are influenced by a high-pressure ridge situated over waters to the south of South Australia. This high-pressure system will continue moving eastward, reaching the Tasman Sea by the weekend. As a result, Adelaide will experience a northerly airstream over the coming days, bringing warmer conditions across the state. A trough will also approach from the west, expected to reach the far western parts of the state by late Sunday.

Across the state, Mount Barker will reach 28 degrees and sunny, Coonawarra will see cloudy skies and a temperature of 24 degrees, Waikerie will see sunny conditions with a warm 31 degrees, and Port Lincoln will be mostly sunny with a high of 25 degrees.

Looking ahead, tomorrow (Friday) will bring a warm day with a high of 29 degrees, and cloud will gradually clear throughout the day. Saturday will see even hotter conditions, with a top of 33 degrees and some clouds. Sunday is expected to be scorching, with Adelaide reaching a maximum temperature of 40 degrees, marking the peak of the weekend heatwave.
