Just when you thought the wild weather had hit its peak, Mother Nature just keeps coming. After the issue of a severe weather warning early this morning, damaging winds and heavy rainfall were seen across the state with Adelaide’s Northern suburbs copping the brunt.
A brief tornado struck Salisbury and nearby suburbs around 5am this morning damaging homes, blocking off roads and leaving some residents without power. An influx of rain followed the tornado with up to 60mm of rain falling in the area immediately after.

More than 4300 properties across Salisbury, Athlestone, Newton, Paradise and Rostrevor were without power after the event according to SA Power Networks with almost half of those still waiting to be restored. The SES responded to more than 200 call outs with flooded homes, damaged roofs and fallen trees and powerlines being the main areas of concern.
The low-pressure system currently sweeping across the state is to blame for the wild weather and is currently making its way across to Victoria and NSW.
