South Australia’s first aerial nets course has opened in the Kuitpo Forest, the new adventure course includes multi-level challenge courses, extended zip-line loops overlaying part of the Heysen Trail and a course for the little ones so they can join in on the fun.

The new establishment not only generates a unique experience for visitors to surf the canopies of South Australia’s first forest plantation in the Mount Lofty Ranges, but allows for a beautiful backdrop that rivals the rainforests of New Zealand.

The opening of this new adventure course will see popular favourites returning to the forest such as zip lines, a Tarzan swing and a rock climbing wall. In addition to these fantastic activities, new additions such as South Australia’s first aerial nets course and plenty of options for families to gather today and share this special experience.

TreeClimbs spokesperson Cathy McHugh is excited to share this new location with Adelaidians who are looking for something fun to do while they’re in the hills, only a short 10-minute drive from Hahndorf and 45 minutes from the city, it’s the perfect location for a short getaway amongst the rolling green hills.

“Set on around 12 acres you really feel the experience of being immersed in a forest and being 30 minutes from the Fleurieu and the same for the Hills, it’s a very different experience and location to the inner city location”.

“The trees are a mixture of species and heights and the experience of rain falling onto the ground, and the steam emanating from it when the sun sets upon it –  it all really makes for a unique experience,”

The dense forest location that is home to this new adventure course was established to ensure sustainable timber resources for South Australia and covers an area of 3,600 hectares, of which 60% is plantation. The tall green trees surrounding the course make for a truly magical experience where you can experience a day full of fun deep in the forest.

“The response has been terrific, from the collaborative work with ForestrySA, obviously the support from the South Australian Nature Based Tourism co-investment fund, working with local tourism operators to locals walking up to see how things are going and sitting with them to have a coffee and a chat, it’s been incredible”.

While the Adelaide location is immensely popular, this new location allows guests to experience more of the beautiful environment that surrounds the city while still enjoying all of the fun that TreeClimb brings with their adventure parks.

Cathy McHugh exclusively announced that “Kuitpo is going to be a blueprint for us creating nature-based and adventure tourism, we want to work closely with ForestrySA and other operators and agencies to develop the educational element of what we offer and add more experiences for people to see and do more at the site, and we would hope to have those activated within the next 12 months,”.
