AFF16 Designer Profile – Couture+Love+Madness

The word ‘passion’ is thrown around quite frequently in the fashion industry, but Cristina Tridente of Couture+Love+Madness leaves no doubt in anyone’s minds that she is the real deal.

The word ‘passion’ is thrown around quite frequently in the fashion industry, but Cristina Tridente of Couture+Love+Madness leaves no doubt in anyone’s minds that she is the real deal.

As a TAFE SA graduate, Cristina Tridente has a goal to put Adelaide on the world fashion map. Every garment is made in house, from start to finish, in her studio in South Australia. Nevertheless, her love for international travel and culture has given Cristina the opportunity to seek and personally hand select distinctive fabrics from across the globe. Cristina Tridente is a couture designer with specialised skills in hand beading, sequins and applique. With this, she completes customised designs with impeccable detailing.

CLM’s latest Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, ‘Lady Camellia’, was the result of Cristina’s travels through China, India and South East Asia. In April 2015, Cristina was collaborating with designers in Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai. This was also where she was fortunate enough to meet Angelica Cheung, editor of Vogue China. Cristina was the first Australian designer honoured with an invitation to showcase her collection at the Qingdao International Fashion Festival in 2015. The show went off without a hitch, so successfully in fact that she was invited to present again this year in May. The response was quite overwhelming and it was clear that Cristina has developed a solid relationship with Qingdao, the sister city of Adelaide.

At this year’s Adelaide Fashion Festival, Cristina Tridente will be previewing CLM’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection. Lace dresses with frills and ruffles and the utilisation of the daring fabric, velvet. From what we have seen in the past, the industry is waiting with bated breath to see what Couture + Love + Madness has to deliver.

Couture+Love+Madness will take part in the SOLD OUT ‘Couture Culture’ Runway on Friday, 21 October as part of the Adelaide Fashion Festival. To discover more about Couture+Love+Madness visit the website or follow the label on Facebook and Instagram.
