As the Friday evening grew cool outside, the Adelaide Fashion Festival marquee began to heat up inside, with the ‘Ready-to-Wear’ runway show finishing off a second night of runways for the 2016 Festival.
Tiff Manuell / Julie White exploded onto the runway with bright and lively colours. Tiff Manuell’s quirky clutch handbags and oversized tote bags was a match made in heaven with Julie White’s fun and bold collection of silk scarves, socks and stockings.
Simmone Standing opened with a bold statement that everyone should live by, FEAR NOT was printed on a tee that was matched with a long, grey, frilled skirt. Dresses, pants, blazers and tops were all beautifully constructed with gatherings and iced with golden orbs.
Stone kept it simple with solid black, white and greys. Wrap tops and strappy pants tied together with golden rings and knot sleeves.
D’nim Artistic Jeans came out strong. Bringing back the overalls with a denim shoulder bag and multi toned jackets. The patchwork prints were astonishing. The intensity of the denim was mellowed with the green and blue splash blends on the high collar long coats and dresses.
Autark brought an enchanting feel to the stage. The frilled high collars and mid-way gathered sleeved shirts were polished with a buttoned up back. Maroon velvet overall dresses, black buttoned velvet skirts and off the shoulder ruffled tops gave a medieval vibe to Autark’s collection.
The crowd went wild for So It Goes. With laid back skater influence, So It Goes delivered a youthful line with a touch of class. Denim wide legged pants, denim jackets with flared sleeves and oversized pin-striped white jackets. The edging of the shirts and dresses were kept raw and frayed while the trousers and white cropped top had a satin finish.
Alphabet the Label started the walk with a gorgeous baby blue floral print cocktail dress, short out front, long out the back with a cross breast and chiffon sleeve top. Peach and laced wavy skirts and tops kept the collection light and dainty.
Casper + Pearl kept the gathered theme of the night going with a jaunty blue on white print dress. White lace cross collared and black outlined blossom printed dresses completed the looks.Lexi dominated with chic corset dresses. Delicate lace tops and dresses with fringes border lining lingerie style was sexy yet sophisticated. The finale dress was a futuristic silvery strap dress with a well-designed, stunning triangular formed tail.
