Africola and S.C. Pannell are ready to heat up summer in McLaren Vale once again with the return of the Africola Canteen to the deck at S.C. Pannell.
From December 27th until January 5th, excluding January 1st, Duncan Welgemoed and the Africola team will be bringing the best of Africola to McLaren Vale – but this year with a twist. Duncan is bringing the taste of his many travels to the Vale this time round, as he’ll be serving up Mexican street food in homage to the country.
Expect a menu that perfectly blends summer flavours with Africola’s bold, eclectic style—complete with a Mexican twist.
Whilst enjoying Duncan’s Mexico-inspired menu and the very best of Africola, settle on the deck with a glass of S.C. Pannell’s 2024 FiFi Fiano, or a chilled bottle of Basso Garnacha. The FiFi Fiano features flavours of guava and green papaya, complemented by white currant, quince, and nectarine, with lime delivering the knockout blow. Whereas, the Basso Garnacha is a gateway Grenache, offering notes of dark plum, cocoa, clove, and warm spices, along with kelp, rhubarb, boysenberry, red cherry preserve, and jamón.
The S.C. Pannell deck is dotted with umbrellas and misters ensuring you stay cool while enjoying the stunning views. If the deck gets too warm, the lush green courtyard will be ready with misters on standby. While you’re there you might even stumble upon an extra bar offering something special.
There are no bookings required, but if you’re planning on heading down with a large group call ahead to have a table arranged. Most importantly, the main thing to remember is that you come thirsty and very hungry, ready to taste and drink away the day!
