This festive season, the renowned Africola Canteen is set to bring a slice of its vibrant culinary magic to SC Pannell, offering a unique dining experience amidst the picturesque vineyards of the Vale.

From December 28th to January 7th, excluding New Year’s Day, Africola Canteen will be the go-to destination for food enthusiasts and holidaymakers alike.

After their resounding success at the Harvest Rock festival, the Africola team, Duncan Welgemoed and Imogen Czulowski, is ready to serve up a summer bistro extravaganza. Unlike their usual offerings, this pop-up will feature a menu tailored for the sunny, vineyard setting – a perfect blend of summer flavors and Africola’s signature bold and eclectic style.

The mantra for this culinary adventure is simple yet inviting: “Eat, drink & recover.” It’s an open invitation to relax, indulge, and enjoy the best of what Africola has to offer in a stunning outdoor setting.

The menu is a tantalising mix of small and larger plates, each dish a testament to Africola’s commitment to quality and innovation.

Start with Coffin Bay Oysters dressed in Tobascola or the Raw Kingfish with ginger and habanero, moving on to heartier options like the Wagyu steak sandwich with pepper sauce and Fontal cheese, or the Poached peri peri chicken salad. Each dish is a celebration of local produce, transformed through Africola’s unique culinary lens.

With plenty of space on the deck, walk-ins are welcome, though larger groups might want to book ahead to secure their spot under the sun.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Pineapple sorbet with pineapple rum and tajin is a must-try, while cheese lovers will relish the Aged Gouda paired with mustard-infused cherries.
