Are most of the cool dance clubs open too late but you still want to party and have fun? Have trouble getting babysitters for late nights? Just not an after midnight partier but still want to have a dance to music you love in a proper darkened nightclub style environment?
This June 17th, Distill is throwing an Afternoon Delight Day Disco to solve all of those problems. The bar will be specially darkened upstairs for a night time feel and will be playing everyone’s favourite hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s music from 2pm-7pm.
There will be loads of disco, funk and soul plus classic pop and rock tunes to get you on your feet and stay there.
“I just wanted to try an event that allowed people with kids who struggle to get a babysitter for late nights to be able to come out and party and dance to music they really love, which is hard for many. Most afternoon shows are usually outdoors, or at wineries where the costs of travel can be prohibitive,” Dj Craig says.
Dj Craig who is a legend of retro nights in Adelaide (often plays at Cry Baby Wednesdays, ‘Fab’ at The Oxford Hotel, ‘Revive’ at Distill, Proscenium, Jive, Supermild, Union Hotel) will be joined by Jaki J (‘Boogie Wonderland’ at The Oxford Hotel, ‘Disco On The Deck’ at West Beach Surf Life Saving Club, ‘Flashdance’ at HQ and ‘Timewarp’ at Heaven).
Distill is located on Rundle Street, which makes it a convenient spot to pop out straight after to dinner at many of the wonderful eateries along the strip like Golden Boy, Africola, Daughter in Law (or even Betty’s Burgers for a greasy feed).
The bar is known for it’s curated, seasonal, hand-crafted cocktail menu, regional wines and a generous selection of specialty beers. It’s known for hosting an array of events, but the Afternoon Delight Day Disco is a chance for distill to offer something new to a different group of people.
