Air Mofo Launches With Free Flights To Launceston In January

Win 6 tickets for you and your mates to Mona Foma summer music festival in Tassie, plus seats on an airline like no other! This is one competition worth entering!

To celebrate Mona Foma’s new home in Launceston, Mona’s infamous summer festival is launching an airline, and is giving away all the seats. Free. True story*.

In fact, they’re giving away the seats in rows of six, and throwing in free Three Day Festival Tickets for passengers as well.

Brian Ritchie, Curator, Mona Foma, explains: “We managed to convince Tourism Tasmania that it would be a good idea, and now we have an entire plane to fill. Everyone should enter this competition. Air Mofo’s sick bags are awesome.”

Air Mofo will be flying to Launceston from ports in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Competition winners will arrive in Launceston at lunchtime on Friday 18 January, ready for the start of the main festival weekend.

What can passengers expect on Air Mofo? “Well, it’s going to be like the festival,” says Ritchie. “It’ll be weird, there’ll be good food, great booze, and some confronting in-flight entertainment that probably can’t be unseen. Passengers should arrive in good spirits.”

Mona Foma Launceston runs from 18-20 January, and features an eclectic program of music and art, including Courtney Barnett Neneh Cherry Underworld, Mulatu Astatke and Oneohtrix Point Never .

Air Mofo is a partnership between Mona Foma and Tourism Tasmania.

John Fitzgerald, CEO, Tourism Tasmania, said: “Air Mofo—what a way to arrive in Launceston for Mona Foma! Northern Tasmania is famous for its delicious produce, world class wine and sparkling and, now one of the coolest art and music festivals in the country. There is everything you need to keep your body and mind fueled for what is destined to be one of the best festivals of the summer.”
