ALDI Australia has announced the exciting confirmation of a site in northeast Adelaide, to service Golden Grove and the surrounding suburbs.

The new announcement forms part of ALDI’s long-term commitment to develop up to 50 stores across South Australia.

“The confirmation of our Golden Grove site is an exciting step forward,” said Viktor Jakupec, ALDI Managing Director – South Australia.

“Feedback from South Australian shoppers has shown they are becoming more and more curious about what we have to offer. We’re keen to show South Australians the benefits ALDI brings not only to their wallets, but also to their lifestyle.”

Following the Development Application approval for a store adjacent to the Golden Grove Village Shopping Centre that is currently occupied by AMF Bowling, ALDI is negotiating with the existing tenant to arrange vacation of the property. Construction will begin once vacated, with the new store expected to be open next year.

ALDI’s South Australian expansion continues to progress, with sites identified at 19 locations around the state. The first of these stores is expected to open in early 2016, with approximately $300 million to be invested in the state over the next few years.

Each of ALDI’s new stores will be approximately 1000 sqm in size and will offer 15-20 employment positions, providing rewarding career opportunities in the local community.

“Since our first store opened in 2001, ALDI Australia has played an important role in the Australian community,” Mr Jakupec said.

“Our operations improve the livelihood of local businesses, create employment opportunities and deliver Australian families the best possible prices on high quality products, many of which have been made locally.”

“We look forward to bringing this offering to South Australia and giving even more Australians the opportunity to discover the ALDI difference.”

For the third time in four years, Roy Morgan Research has awarded ALDI ‘Supermarket of the Year 2014’ for its industry-leading levels of service and customer satisfaction, which is a testament to the great value currently offered to shoppers on the Eastern Seaboard.

Along with fresh fruit, vegetables and bread delivered fresh daily, ALDI will offer South Australian shoppers a wide range of award winning grocery products and popular Special Buys.
