One of Adelaide’s stand out photographers, Alice Healy, has been on the scene for several years as a commercial photographer specialising in Fashion, Wedding and Portrait photography. Her latest exhibition, Happy Faces Portrait Series is a project inspired as a counter-point to her professional work and is an extension of her Expressions Series exhibited during SALA 2015. Its aim is to capture the true beauty of genuine smiles, laughter and happiness.
Opening at Paxton’s Winery over the weekend, the Happy Faces Portrait Series exhibition launch brought together VIPs, photography subjects from the exhibition, friends and family, to enjoy tunes by Jimmybay, amazing wine, and of course, the exhibition.
Alice’s Happy Faces Series is a study of the physical facial response to laughter and happiness. Over the past 12 months, Healy has photographed in excess of 150 individual black and white portraits ranging in age, cultural background and gender. When you combine a room full of photos of laughing people, and a cellar door full of great wine, visitors to the exhibition at Paxton’s Winery are bound to leave with a smile on their face.
