All Day Brunch Launches At Norwood Favourite

Who doesn’t love brunch?  We certainly do, so were super excited to hear that a local favourite have extended their brunch menu to be a seven-days a week

Who doesn’t love brunch?  We certainly do, and we super excited to hear that the The Colonist Tavern at Norwood is all for it too; so much so that they have extended their brunch menu to be a seven-day offering.  Yes, that’s right people; you can start your day by indulging in one of The Colonist’s delicious brunch dishes until 4 pm every day of the week.  Woohoo!

We were treated to a sneak peek of this yumminess as The Colonist launched its brand new menu that featured not only brunch, but new bar snacks and a couple of “chef’s favourites” that will be added to the signature pub classics menu.

One of our favourites was defintiely the Tasmanian Smoked Salmon & Corn Fritters.  These little fried bundles of goodness were just popping with fresh corn kernels and accompanied perfectly by a generous amount of salmon, some good old smashed avo, greens and a tomato and capsicum salsa.

Another crowd pleaser was the Pulled Pork Heuvos Rancheros; the second dish off we tried the new brunch menu.  With its free range gooey fried eggs, this Mexican mash up of tortilla, corn salsa, pulled pork and hot sauce, was certainly a stand out.  We’re thinking it could be the perfect remedy for the morning after a big night out.

If you are feeling the need to be that little bit healthy, then you simply must try the Chicken and Haloumi salad.  This gorgeous plate of food featured roasted baby carrots, quinoa, red onion, beetroot, salad greens, toasted seeds and a lemon tahini all accompanying the char-grilled chicken breast and grilled haloumi.  It’s both pretty and delicious.

Head Chef, Dean Lennerth has developed the new menu making the most of fresh, seasonal produce that is sourced from local growers and producers and is keen to use as much of this as possible.  He is also committed to providing “tasty food options for vegetarians, vegans and people with gluten intolerances” – no, you have not been forgotten about in the taste stakes.

Now, after eating all of this you are going to need something to wash it down, so The Colonist has joined the fresh juice craze by adding to their menu a range of gin and fresh juice cocktails.  There’s a ‘sweet & spicy’ pineapple, chilli and lemon blend, the ‘tarty & tasty’ ruby grapefruit & tonic, or our favourite the ‘dark & stormy’ berry mint and lime.  Lucky for us, you can buy your fave flavour in a jug – to share of course while you are brunching.

The Colonist has also extended their bar snack menu to include more grazing options during the warmer months including special wedges, nachos and pizzas; perfect for sharing with your besties while you enjoy one of the local craft beers on tap, or even something off the extensive cellar list where you can buy premium wines by the glass.

You can check out the new menu from Saturday 14th October at The Colonist Tavern, 44 The Parade, Norwood and keep up to date with news and events via their Insta or Facebook pages
