All Donations Quadrupled Today For RSPCA Animals In 24-Hour Appeal

Big-hearted supporters celebrate World Animal Day by pledging to multiply every donated dollar by four during 24-hour appeal for RSPCA SA animals

One dollar will become four for RSPCA South Australia today, as the organisation kicks off its “Give to Get Them Home” 24-hour appeal.

The fourfold increase in every donation is thanks to the generosity of several major donors and supporters who believe in the work the organisation does for animals.

RSPCA locations across the country have united for today’s event, creating an incredible opportunity for animal lovers to have a large-scale impact on the 123,000 plus animals the shelters’ care every year.

The appeal also provides a perfect way to celebrate World Animal Day, taking place tomorrow.

“We know South Australians love their pets, and we’re grateful that so many in our community recognise the important work RSPCA does for less fortunate animals,” RSPCA South Australia CEO Paul Stevenson said.

“We’re totally dependent on that community support to keep doing this work.

“Last year we had nearly 8500 animals come through our shelters, and meeting their care needs – which can include extensive veterinary care – cost us nearly $5million.”

First launched in Victoria last year, Give to Get Them Home drew unprecedented public support, raising $618,000 dollars in 24 hours. Mr Stevenson said the organisation is optimistic that the South Australian community will rally, knowing that every dollar they give will become four dollars.

“When you do the maths, it’s clear that there’s never been a better opportunity make your donation go further and help animals have a second chance at life.”
