Well if so, food and wine lovers rejoice! The team behind the award-winning Cellar Door Fest – Adelaide’s favourite food + drink festival– are launching an all-new winter event next month. Described as this season’s ultimate winter warmer, Cellar Door Fest Winter Edit will bring winery vibes to the heart of the city on 19 & 20 July, beating off the winter chill with a delicious and warming mix of some of SA’s best food, wine, beer, spirits… and music!
The new Winter Edit has been designed as an intimate take on the popular summertime festival and will showcase a limited, handpicked selection of some 80 producers from across 14 South Australian regions. Similar to the summer festival, guests will receive a Riedel wine glass on arrival – the perfect vessel for their tasting journey, and then left to tour the regions, including a dedicated ‘Distillery District’, which will be all set up in the cosy surrounds of the Adelaide Convention Centre’s new East Building overlooking the river.
Music will play a starring role at Winter Edit, so much so that Festival Director, Alex Bradford describes the event as a “food and drink meets music festival.” The Cellar Door Fest team has partnered with the fabulous and creative talent at The Vibe Company to curate a stellar line-up of live music, spanning everything from folk to indie, disco and soul. The Vibe Company will also transform the Convention Centre into a cosy, boho chic festival setting with plenty of rugs, cushions and festoon lighting.
And last but certainly not least, there’s the food. Beyond a range of tasty treats on offer from participating food producers (think Red Cacao Chocolatier, Udder Delights, Bracegirdles, Toast the Locals and more), Winter Edit will serve up a range of comfort food favourites, including gourmet toasties, jaffles, baked potatoes and house-made curries.
