Australia’s very best caterers and restaurants have been celebrated on the national stage this week, at the Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence. Held at Doltone House Darling Island in Sydney, the winners from each state’s individual awards came together and went head-to-head to crown the country’s very best.
South Australia took home an impressive array of national honours at this year’s awards. Among the winners, Adelaide’s Ying Chow Chinese Restaurant claimed national gold in the Chinese Restaurant category. Over in the cafe scene, Caffe Buongiorno O’Halloran Hill proudly brought home gold for Cafe Dining. Joining them with gold was steak restaurant Carnivore in Hindmarsh.
Down by the coast, Taste the Yorke in Moonta scored silver in the Breakfast Restaurant category, while Noi Vietnamese Eatery in Fullarton impressed with a bronze for Vietnamese Restaurant. Fine dining wasn’t left out either, with Hentley Farm Restaurant in Seppeltsfield earning a national silver in the coveted Restaurant in a Winery category.
West Lakes’ Tunki – Ceviche & Woodfire Grill took home bronze in the specialty dining category, and taking out a silver award was Hindmarsh Valley’s Swagman Country Dining in the Tourism Restaurant category.
The catering scene also saw SA shine. Morphettville Racecourse galloped to gold as the country’s top Event and Convention Centre Caterer, while Events at SkyCity Adelaide earned bronze for Wedding Caterer of the Year.
Morphettville CEO Grant Mayer said, “This achievement is a true reflection of the hard work, talent, and passion of our entire team. To be recognised as the best Event and Convention Centre Caterer in Australia is an incredible honour — and a proud moment for everyone at Morphettville.”
This year’s awards prove that South Australia continues to hold its own on the national stage, where flavour, personality, and style reign supreme.
