Adelaide’s first Japanese-style BBQ restaurant Kyoku Yakiniku is well known for offering up delicious premium wagyu meat, flame-grilled and presented to your liking. Now, the iconic restaurant is bringing you all-you-can-eat Tuesdays and Wednesdays!
Homed at Gouger Street, the restaurant offers the most authentic Yakiniku (BBQ) experience, using fresh and seasoned ingredients grilled to your desire. Only the highest-grade quality Japanese wagyu is used, and with its impeccable quality, unrivalled fine texture, buttery flavour and unparalleled juiciness, this Kyoku offering is above any seen before.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the all-you-can-eat menu will allow you to taste some of Adelaide’s best Japanese cuisine on offer.
Originally planned to be held every Wednesday, the restaurant has become overwhelmed by guests wanting to experience this culinary heaven.
Their menu is exquisitely curated to offer the distinct tastes and flavours of high-quality full-blood Japanese wagyu beef that showcases exceptional marbling, and if you’re an expert in meats, you’ll know how important this is.
Maybe a lesser-known fact though, is that to ensure the meat is as tender as possible, the livestock is often fed chocolate to create that creamy, sweet and juicy texture, unique to Japanese Wagyu.
Theirt chocolate-fed beef is then thinly sliced to perfection and artistically presented to showcase the beautifully marbled and tenderised meat in its purest form. From here, diners can cook their own meat to their liking with the in-built grill provided within the tables, adding any seasoning or sauces to taste.
For a sample of each hand-cut selection of meat, their premium wagyu platter presents Japanese A5 sirloin and Australian wagyu, chuck roll, oyster blade, flap meat and outside skirt slices for a taste of each unique cut. Otherwise, splurge on a premium wagyu steak on its own for the ultimate beef indulgence.
This Yakiniku experience in itself makes the restaurant a must-visit for that authentic Japanese BBQ. However, their extensive menu also accommodates those with a taste for seafood, veggies or alternative meats such as pork and chicken, presenting unique dishes that take a modern twist on Japanese fare.
A signature item is their foie gras terrine, marinated with miso and served with nashi pear and orange miso sauce. Other popular dishes include their agedashi tofu, grilled Hokkaido scallop and soft-shell crab charcoal bao. With sashimi, sushi and salads to back it all up, Kyoku gives its patrons a trip to Japan, without ever leaving the state!
Two private dining rooms offer up a space to host your next function or event, with one presented as a traditional Tatami room, where diners can sit on the floor. With a selection of tapas and share plates, Kyoku offers up a venue that can cater for a range of tastes and dietary-requirements.
