If typical food pairing events aren’t tickling your tastebuds for that next special night out, an incredible new offering from boutique cellar door Rohan Family is taking guests on a culinary journey with a smoky Asian BBQ twist.

Rohan Family, run by Heidrun Estate, are joining forces with Gouger Street’s Kyoku Yakiniku on 14 July, for an exclusive dining experience that brings together some of the best flavours in Australian wine with some of the finest cuts of meat in the world, premium quality wagyu.

For those who haven’t ventured into the mouth-watering world of Japanese cuisine before, Kyoku Yahiniku is one of Adelaide’s premier Japanese venues, featuring a sleek monochrome and light wood interior with black extractors positioned over each table to capture the curling smoke of their dishes.

The evening will kick off in style with a glass of bubbly on arrival, as guests are treated to an epic five course tasting menu featuring authentic Japanese dishes such as Tuna Tataki and A5 Hida wagyu sushi. Each dish will be paired with a curated menu of Rohan Family’s incredible wines such as the flavoursome ‘After Dark’ 2019 Grenache and ‘The Table Top’ 2017 Shiraz from Barossa Valley.

Ideal for those missing international travel, guests will be fully immersed in Japanese cuisine and culture, with front row seats to an intimate musical performance midway through the evening on the traditional shinobue, an instrument similar to a flute.

With the current chilly temperatures, there’s no better time to sink into an indulgent evening of that magical wintery combination of warming red wine and expertly marbled wagyu beef, smoked to tender perfection on an authentic Japanese BBQ.

The event marks Rohan Family’s first collaboration with a local restaurant and is poised to showcase the breadth of culinary talent and exquisite wine-production that the Festival State is famed for, through a collaboration with one of the top Japanese restaurants in Adelaide.

Well-known for their contemporary, easy to drink wines for every occasion, the Rohan Family brand place an emphasis on premium wine quality over quantity.

Taking place in the middle of the school holidays, this one-night-only event is the ideal opportunity for parents to steal away for a night of child-free relaxation, treated to a curated menu of Japanese cuisine and South Australian wine, expertly paired for a sensational taste experience.

The party atmosphere doesn’t need to stop when you walk out the door, with guests receiving a complimentary bottle of Rohan Family’s ‘Always Sparkling’ Brut NV to enjoy at home.
