With the festive season near, Amazon Australia has announced the opening of its new logistics site in Cavan to help speed up deliveries

Amazon Australia has announced the opening of its new logistics site located in Cavan, Adelaide as it gears up to meet demand ahead of the festive season. The new site will serve as a distribution point for Amazon packages, enabling the seamless delivery of customer orders in-and-around Adelaide.

The arrival of the new site has created local operational jobs, as well as flexible earning opportunities with Amazon’s innovative delivery service Amazon Flex. Amazon Australia Director of Operations Craig Fuller says. “We’re pleased to contribute to the local economy through the creation of jobs and flexible earning opportunities for people in the area, and we look forward to delivering what our customers need and being an active member of the community.”

West Beach resident Samantha was delighted when she found out there was going to be a delivery station launching near her home, she said “ I was so excited when I found out that there would be an opportunity to join Amazon, here in Adelaide.  My first week has been really exciting, and the team here are really lovely and there’s a really fun environment.  It’s a great team to be a part of!”

Amazon Logistics sites power the ‘last mile’ of the order process and help to improve the delivery experience for Amazon customers in the surrounding area, which for the Cavan station will stretch north to Gawler, south to Hallet Cove and east to Gumeracha.

Mr. Fuller explains, “The opening of our new Amazon Logistics site in Cavan enables us to provide an enhanced delivery experience for customers as we head into the festive season. Building infrastructure closer to where our customers live enables us to deliver to them more efficiently, and with the arrival of the Cavan delivery station, people in the Adelaide region will benefit from even faster delivery promises on their orders.”

Minister for Trade and Investment, Stephen Patterson said “Having one of the world’s biggest online retailers establishing their logistics centre in South Australia is testament to the state’s ongoing ability to attract investment from multinational companies.” “Amazon shoppers based in Australia, will now have access to faster shipping as the site serves as distribution point, creating local jobs for South Australians in time for the festive period.”

Packages will be shipped to the Cavan Delivery Station, primarily from Amazon Fulfillment Centre, and then picked up by Amazon Flex delivery partners and delivered directly to customers.
