If you’re looking for an excuse to escape the city this weekend and indulge in an afternoon that’s sure to set the bar for premium dining experiences, then we’ve got just the thing!
This Sunday, the 13th of August, favourite Norwood restaurant arkhé is heading to the Adelaide Hills, teaming up with local distillery Ambleside Distillers to host their exclusive ‘StillFlame’ long lunch event, guaranteed to satisfy any dedicated foodie or lover of good gin.

As part of Ambleside Distillers ‘Winter Gin’ series, the two are coming together to host a delicious, four-course share-style lunch, showcasing premium fresh produce and local flavours. ‘These series are all about collaboration,’ says Matt Dickson, Ambleside’s Founder and Managing Director.
‘Last year, we hosted a series of dinners, inviting restaurants we work with to partake, and it was a huge success,’ says Matt. ‘We decided to do it again this year, and so far, we’ve had Duncan from Africola, Terry from Soi 38, and now Jake and the team from arkhé.’

Starting at 12:30 pm at Ambleside Distillery, guests will be welcomed with a G&T on arrival and get to enjoy two perfectly paired cocktails throughout the lunch. Designed by arkhé’s Executive Chef Jake Kellie and Ambleside’s Matt Dickson, the menu will feature the finest ingredients, which will be highlighted throughout their exceptional creations.
‘The drinks list has been carefully curated to pair with each of arkhé’s dishes for this lunch menu’, says Matt. ‘Besides our gin, we’ll also be featuring various local Adelaide Hills wines throughout the afternoon, providing people with that alternative.’
With dishes that include raw saddle tail snapper with burnt mandarin and cultured cream, whole roasted striploin with roasted celeriac and truffle jus, and a sweetly delicious bread and butter pudding with rum ice cream, the menu is designed to ‘wow’ and only be enhanced by the tastes and aromas of the popular Ambleside Gin.

Ambleside Distillers has crafted an impeccable reputation since its launch back in 2016 and has since become one of the most recognised distilleries in the Southern Hemisphere. Known for their bold and unique flavour varietals, they recently won Best Spirit in Australia for their peppery Big Dry Gin at the 2022 London Spirit Competition. They’ve also been proud collaborators with arkhé since their inception, with arkhé showcasing Ambleside as their house gin.
Due to the nature of the event and the intricate detail and consideration of the menu, dietary restrictions can unfortunately not be accommodated for this lunch.
