In an Adelaide first, premier Japanese restaurant, Ginza Mikayo has announced it is hosting world renowned Iron chef, Hiroyuki Sakai at an event called Sakai in SA. Known as the ‘French Iron Chef’, Sakai is one of the world’s most highly acclaimed Iron Chefs.
Event founder and Taste of the Orient Managing Director Johnny Yung said, “The events are planned for October 13 and 14 at the Adelaide Casino and will include a 7-course degustation dinner by the legendary Chef Hiroyuki Sakai and a host of other high profile and award winning chefs.”
Joining Sakai will be: Chef Ikuei Arakane and Chef Mark Normoyle who both wear the title “Iron Chef”, as well as Executive Pastry Chef Pierrick Boyer from Le Petit Gateau and Head Chef Kazuki Ushiro from Ginza Miyako.
There will also be a full agenda of entertainment including a Japanese cultural performance.
This dinner will incorporate the best of South Australia’ s local produce and showcase matching Australian wines, presented by Sommelier Masahiko Iga.
