We hate to send you into a panic/excited frenzy but there is just one week until Melbourne Cup!! If you haven’t figured out what you are doing yet, you had better gallop to it. Luckily Morphettville Racecourse is making it pretty easy if you are looking for Adelaide’s biggest Melbourne Cup party…
With the event expected to draw thousands of racegoers, this year’s Melbourne Cup Day at Morphettville is looking to be one of the best.
Featuring a live eight race program, full coverage of all of the Flemington racing action on 250 screens around the course and plenty of off-track entertainment, it will be the closest experience for South Australians to the main event in Melbourne.
Fashion at The Races is once again looking for South Australia’s most stylish race-goer. The winner on the day will automatically qualify for the Fashion at The Races SA State Final at Morphettville on Saturday 7 May, and have the opportunity to win a luxury racing holiday to Asia valued at $25,000. Now that is worth dressing up for!
Interested fashionistas can pre-register for this event online, or register on the day between 12 – 1pm at the Fashion at The Races stage in Champagne Gardens. The event will commence at 1:05pm.
There will be live entertainment from ‘Adelaide’s almost famous cover band’ Wasabi, from 1pm in the general admission area and guests are invited to join in the fun at the after race party with DJ entertainment in the Diva Lounge.
General Admission tickets to Melbourne Cup Day at Morphettville are $25 for Adults, $15 for Concession and DVA cardholders, $15 for children age 14-17 and the event is free for children 13 and under.
No need to stress about transport, the Motor Accident Commission (MAC) is offering all South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) members and pre-purchased ticket holders free public transport on all Adelaide Metro networks to and from Morphettville Racecourse on this day.
