Todd McKenney is giving kids the chance to fulfill their starry-eyed stage dreams with his new ‘Search For A Star’ competition. One lucky child will be selected to perform LIVE on stage with Todd at each tour stop on his new show ‘Songs And Stories Of Peter Allen’: touring nationally from 18th October – 1st December 2012.
Each week in the lead-up to the tour, Todd will again put on his ‘judges’ hat, along with the show producers and select their Pick Of The Week to be featured with a profile on Todd’s website. Their first pick is Hamish Briggs: a 12-year-old from Kalgoorlie who travels to Perth every weekend to work on his singing, dancing and performing. Hamish was the very first entrant to the competition, jumping at the opportunity and getting his video submission ready in just one day!

Todd chose Hamish as his first ‘pick of the week’ because “he reminded me of a younger me!”
The proud father is passionate about the Search For A Star competition, explaining: “With such talented kids in this country, I wanted to give them a chance to be able to shine on stage.”
Entries for ‘Search For A Star’ are OPEN NOW to boys and girls aged 8 – 12, and will close one week before the date of each respective show. Entrants upload a one-minute performance (audio or video) of themselves performing “When I Get My Name In Lights” from The Boy From Oz production.
The chosen applicants will get to sing that classic song live on stage with Todd at his ‘Songs And Stories Of Peter Allen’ show, as well as joining in on the finale when Todd performs ‘Rio’.
