Believe it or not, December is just around the corner, and with that news comes questions about end-of-year parties. Who will host? Should we host Christmas or New Year? Where should we go? Thankfully, that last question is easily answered, with Anvers Wines’ brand new restaurant and cellar door.
The new venue opened in the southern Adelaide suburb of Kangarilla, a mere stones throw away from the beautiful McLaren Vale wine region. While Wayne and Myriam Keoghan established Anvers Wines in 1998 – and is thus an established, Halliday 5-star-rated winery – the venue underwent a transformative refurbishment in March.
The team at Anvers have spared no expense, with striking floor to ceiling windows seamlessly connecting the venue to the rugged bushland exteriors and picturesque views of the Mount Bold reservoir.
Alongside polished marble floors, matte black furnishings, tan leather couches and terracotta coloured rubble stonemasonry, Anvers’ is made for balmy evenings celebrating with those closest to you.
Since its official re-opening, the new restaurant and cellar door has memorised many a wine lover taking a tour of the region, and by a stroke of luck, the location has announced its accepting bookings for the silly season.
Notably, Anvers has announced a luxurious Christmas package, where you and your dearest can secure exclusive use of the restaurant. The Christmas package involves a delicious 3-course seasonal menu, including shared platters, plus a 4-hour beverage package.
The dining experience will begin with individual prawn cocktails, alongside share-style grazing platters completed with natural oysters, caramelised leek and goats cheese croquettes, marinated grilled vegetables, and meats and cheeses.
The Christmas offering transpires into some classic festive dishes, such as tender turkey beast with cranberry and apple, and a slow roasted lamb shoulder with jus, all served with the trimming you can expect for a Christmas lunch.
Dessert on the Anvers’ Christmas menu is decadent with individual plum puddings with brandy custard, along with traditional Australian Christmas dessert of mini pavlovas with fresh berries, passionfruit and cream.
If this drool-inducing menu designed by Head Chef Michael Ielasi wasn’t enough, the large, modern interiors can be rearranged to suit any Christmas function, guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on guests.
