Applications open for Local Battle of the Bands

The Battle of the Bands will provide a paid gig for the local young musicians, with a chance to win an exciting array of prizes and develop on-stage skills.

Do you know the next young aspiring muso’s, ready to take the stage and dazzle the crowds with their talents?

Registrations are now open for the youth Local Battle of the Bands on the Glenelg Foreshore this November. This opportunity is the perfect chance for aspiring musicians, rock stars and boy bands alike to show Adelaide their skills.

The exciting Battle of the Bands will provide a paid, professional gig for the local young gun musicians, helping them develop on-stage skills with studio-level sound and lighting, as well as a chance to win an array of prizes.

Successful applicants will be paid $150 to perform to cover artists travel, time and equipment cost.

The competition will be hosted across two days on 27 and 28 November, with an open event on Saturday and a school-based show on Sunday.

Hopeful contestants performing in the open event must be between the ages of 12 and 25, with the band consisting of 3 or more members. For the school event, all performers must be enrolled in school and at least 12 years old, where all experiences levels are welcome to compete.

Prizes up for grabs in the open event include a major paid at City of Holdfast Bay event, as well as a mentoring, recording and photography package.

The winner’s school-based division will be offered a paid opportunity to perform at the popular Glenelg eatery Beach Burrito, as well as a mentoring, photography and a recording opportunity.

 All runners-up will receive a mentoring and photography package as well.  

For both competitions, at least one band member must live in the City of Holdfast Bay or City of Marion area or enrolled in a school in either location.

Aspiring bands must submit an expression for interest form by 9 pm Sunday, October 3, where a selection will be made based upon bands experience, skill level and event compatibility. The City of Holdfast Bay states that all applicants will be notified by 5 pm October 21.
