Are You Adelaide’s Next Superstar?

Dust off your vocal chords, Adelaide, registrations are flowing in for ‘Adelaide's Next Superstar’ – South Australia’s newest and most exciting singing competition.

The inaugural competition is open to all ages and consists of four stepping stones for the singers’ pathway to success.

First of all, performers are auditioned by sending in their video upload, filmed in the comfort of their own surroundings.

Stage two will consist of live heats at The Arkaba, followed by the Semi Finals at The Gov.

Two winners – a solo vocalist/vocal group and a band of up to five members – will be announced at the Adelaide’s Next Superstar Grand Final, to be held at the Theatre in the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on November 18.

Each winner will receive a $20,000 recording package, including video production of their first single, and a trip to the 2012 ARIAS.

Event organiser, Lui Di Costanzo, said Adelaide’s Next Superstar aimed to get the whole State singing to the right tune.

“South Australia used to be a music hub with countless live music venues that supported emerging artists,” Mr Di Costanzo said.

“However, pokies eventually replaced live music in pubs, leaving our talented musicians with limited venues where they could pursue their professional careers.

“Adelaide’s Next Superstar has been developed by Pasco Dilorenzo, Trev Worley and myself, who are all passionate about recreating a vibrant music scene in Adelaide.

“We hope the competition will assist in providing a new generation of up-and-coming artists with the opportunity to showcase their talent and launch their careers in music.”
