Modbury is set to be alight with festive spirit as over 20,000 people are anticipated to gather for the City of Tea Tree Gully’s annual Civic Park Carols this Sunday, December 17.
As one of the premier free carols events in Australia, Civic Park Carols has become a cherished Christmas tradition for local families and visitors alike.
Tea Tree Gully Mayor Marijka Ryan expressed the event’s significance within the community, stating, “Civic Park Carols has a special place in our community’s heart. Our Council is honored to host this incredible event again in 2023. We hope as many people as possible can join us.”
This year’s festivities promise to be unforgettable with ARIA award-winning artist Paulini headlining the event. Paulini, known for her remarkable vocal talent, shared her excitement, saying, “It’s going to be an incredible event, and I can’t wait to share this special evening with all of my South Australian fans.”
Joining Paulini on stage will be a lineup of talented South Australian performers, including beloved holiday icons Santa and Mrs. Claus, popular children’s entertainers the Boomstars, a local community choir, and dancers.
As a special tribute to the City of Tea Tree Gully’s new Sister City relationship with Borodyanka, Ukraine, the Volya Ukrainian Cossack Dancers will also grace the stage.
The event will be hosted by Nine News presenters Kate Collins and Brenton Ragless, adding a touch of professional charm to the festivities. Additionally, Australia’s favourite bear, Humphrey B Bear, will take centre stage in the pre-show, delighting both young and young-at-heart attendees.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, ringing in the festive season with a bang.
Battery-operated candles will be available for purchase from the charity partner Can:Do 4Kids, allowing attendees to participate in the event’s warm and inclusive atmosphere.
For those unable to attend in person, the Civic Park Carols event will be live-streamed via Facebook, ensuring that everyone can join in the holiday joy.
Also a special Dive-in Carols event will be hosted at the Waterworld Aquatic Centre (sold-out), where the show will be displayed live on an inflatable screen, creating a unique and immersive viewing experience for all.
