Arkhé fires up for a one-night-only fire fueled birthday feast with culinary star Paul Farag this weekend

Arkhé is celebrating its fourth birthday with a fire-driven collaborative dinner by Jake Kellie and acclaimed chef Paul Farag, bringing a bold fusion of Middle Eastern finesse and open-flame cooking to Norwood.

This weekend, Arkhé is blowing out the candles for its fourth birthday, and staying true to form, they’re doing it with smoke, soul, and some culinary star power. On Sunday, November 23rd, Jake Kellie and the Arkhé crew will team up with Executive Chef of ESCA and the two-hatted AALIA, widely regarded as one of Australia’s most exciting chefs, Paul Farag, for a one-night-only celebration of all things fire, flavour, and celebration at their Norwood digs.

Paul has just been named the Good Food Guide’s Chef of the Year and has built a reputation for reimagining Middle Eastern and Levantine cuisine with boundary-pushing finesse. His style blends ancient inspiration with a hyper-modern approach, using long-forgotten ingredients, techniques and stories, while keeping everything accessible. It’s a style that matches perfectly with Jake’s own philosophy, which is centred on generosity, share-style dining, and cooking over flames.

For Arkhé’s fourth birthday, the duo will create a collaborative menu built around the dishes and flavours they both love. There will be four inventive snacks to kick things off, followed by two shared entrees, two mains cooked over Arkhé’s signature open fire, sides, and petit fours to finish. In true Arkhé fashion, diners can expect bold flavour and a communal table vibe.

As the evening becomes night, the atmosphere will ignite in the courtyard with a DJ set, and a chance to mingle with chefs, regulars, industry folk and food lovers alike. This is the perfect way to toast four years of one of the eastern suburbs’ most consistently exciting dining rooms and set the tone for the big year ahead.

As Paul heads to Arkhé, it’s a chance to see him and Jake share their deep respect for cooking that brings people together. Paul’s impressive journey, from early days at The Summit to working alongside Colin Fassnidge, Brent Savage, and later, Josh Niland, has shaped a culinary identity centred on craftsmanship, sustainability, and honouring the flavours of his Egyptian heritage. His time at Nour was a turning point, inspiring him to push Middle Eastern cuisine into new and unexpected territory. That is what ultimately led to AALIA, a restaurant inspired by centuries of culinary history, from North Africa through the Middle East, all the way back to 10th-century cookbooks.

Now, Adelaide diners will get to experience that vision up close, combined with Arkhé’s fire-driven style, for one unforgettable night.
