That much loved Irish Gypsy fiddle player, Aindrias de Staic, is back in town for one week only with the tale of his chaotic journey, from being ejected from his lodgings in County Cork, at the southern tip of Ireland, to his eventual arrival in Australia, via a host of countries, Irish pubs, pints of Guinness and hilarious misadventures. He presented this show in 2007 to great reviews and it has won numerous awards wherever he has performed it. This current performance has been tightened up a lot since he first wrote it in 2006 and now also features more music. The pace is fast and the content will amuse and enthral you.
Storytelling is one of the great Irish pastimes and de Staic is one of the best. Music is another of Ireland’s great exports and de Staic is a master fiddler, not only playing a vast repertoire of Irish tunes but a range of Italian, Greek and Gypsy music as well.
Most people are content to merely kiss the Blarney Stone, but rumour has it that Aindrias de Staic took it away for a dirty weekend and, when you here him recounting his adventures, you’ll find that easy to believe. Treat yourself to a great night out with lots of good tunes and plenty of craic with this amiable and warm hearted traveller.
