Stay connected with your inner creative and interact with like-minded artists from the comfort of your own home with the Art Gallery of South Australia’s new, cutting-edge online experiences.

AGSA Director, Rhana Devenport, says that in these times of uncertainty, art plays a pivotal and positive role in the community as a source of inspiration and creativity.

“Now more than ever, we invite our audiences to stay connected to art, through our enhanced online presence and social media channels.

“We are channelling energy into the online space, creating digital experiences and virtual tours of the 2020 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Monster Theatres, AGSA exhibitions and our collection.”

The plethora of online family-friendly activities includes the Monstrous Neo Digital Teen Takeover. This will feature live Dungeons and Dragons gaming sessions between local artists and gamers.

If you’d rather watch ‘bot wars there is the opportunity to view unique battles between “sumo” robots.  The Adelaide Robotics Academy is harnessing up-to-the-minute artificial intelligence incorporated with games for the ultimate digital experience.

An interactive experience is available through The Bait Fridge, who is on hand to assist with your own “monstrous” transformation with tips on how to create your own monster face filters.

If creative writing is more your style, Poetry Takeover will help you on your way.  The SA History Festival initiative is inviting people to put words to their favourite artworks via the Monstrous Neo Portal.

Keep active and share your dance moves with local choreographers through Tick Tock, from the comfort of your living room.

If you prefer something more sedate, pull out the paint brushes and follow the step-by-step instructions to create your own narrative portraits.  You’ll have the opportunity to share your works online.  In addition, local artists will host DIY creative tutorials to help guide participants through the artistic process.

Keep up with all these creative events, and more through the Art Gallery of SA Facebook page, simply sign up for updates.
