Aspiring Adelaide entrepreneurs, listen up! Business mentoring opportunities are coming to Adelaide’s East in 2018, all with the aim of helping you to make your business dreams come true.

Aspiring Adelaide entrepreneurs, listen up! Business mentoring opportunities are coming to Adelaide’s East this February, all with the aim of helping you to realise your business dreams. Whether you aspire to be a game-changer in a specific industry or simply hope to make one of your innovative ideas come to light, then this is the perfect chance to touch base with experts and to be inspired about the possibilities.

The City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters, in collaboration with Adelaide’s best startup business mentors and local entrepreneurs, is hosting a series of events called The Eastside Startup Series. The aim is to help local startups by providing high-level strategic education and mentoring to aid future business growth.

The Eastside Startup Series, facilitated by LeapSheep with the support of the Council, will kick off the series of five events in February 2018.

City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters Mayor, Robert Bria, said the Council was attracted to participate in this initiative to support future business growth for entrepreneurs in the area.

“Entrepreneurs contribute greatly to local economies and there are already a growing number of success stories in the Council area,” said Mayor Robert Bria.

“It is important for the entrepreneurial and startup business industries to be supported through local opportunities for learning, development and networking and hosting the Eastside Startup Series is a way in which the Council can provide its support,” he said.

Four events will be held in an open forum environment facilitated by LeapSheep and a panel of industry experts, which will cover relevant topics including getting started, global opportunities, startup growth and the future of the industry. Each session will cater for 40 participants.

The expert panellists for the first event, ‘How to start a Startup’, include Daniels Langeberg, Founder and CEO at EcoCaddy; Ali Uren, Founder and Director at Kiikstart; and Simon Schmidt, Co-founder and Managing Director at Vinnovate.

A free networking event will also be held as part of the series, enabling connection and knowledge sharing between other local entrepreneurs and business owners.

“Events are an essential ingredient in supporting startups through the process of building the companies and jobs of the future,” said Josh Garratt, Chairman of Coworking SA.

“Bringing these people together fosters community which has an economic multiplier effect,” he said.
