Australia’s most elite athletes are making their way to Adelaide, with a new purpose-built High Performance Centre attracting plenty of attention in the sporting world.
GameReady Performance opened its state-of-the-art facility to the public in January, and has already seen famous faces from across the Nation upping their game at the Centre, which caters for all things fitness, in one convenient location.
Saunas, spas, cold plunge-pools, gym equipment, a remedial massage room, athlete’s lounge and a full-size indoor basketball court are just some of the facilities making this place above and beyond anything Australia’s seen before.
And the feedback from the professionals says it all. AFL big names, Christian Petracca and Max Gawn, spent time at GameReady during the pre-season, and throughout SA’s highly successful Gather Round, seven AFL sides used the facility to gear up or wind down from matches, many of them disappointed not to have such a facility closer to home.
The Queensland Maroons also used the facility throughout the State of Origin, while the 36ers, Adelaide United and Port Adelaide players are also regulars. Port’s Mitch Georgiades, has become a familiar site at the Centre, getting himself “Game Ready” following an ACL injury earlier this season.
Owner and former industry professional Dan Chudleigh, said Game Ready is making “high performance the new normal”.
“I’ve travelled to many parts of the world high performance National programs, and I don’t think there’s a publicly accessible facility like this anywhere else in the world,” he said.
GameReady has a team of 28 staff, from Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Podiatrists, Exercise Physiologists, Massage Therapists, Mental Health and Counselling professionals and Strength and Conditioning experts.
A full Sports Science Suite enables staff to personalise individual programs for everyone, which Dan says makes the facility “the most inclusive, exclusive opportunity in Adelaide”.
While each individual can access a program tailored to their needs, they can also do this in a group setting, and GameReady has just launched a Thursday night session, where athletes can pump out one last big cardio session ahead of game day, with more group sessions to come, which Dan said were sure to “turn some heads”.
He said the athlete’s lounge was an added draw card, enabling people to work or study, while getting in some fitness or rehab in a healthy team environment.
