From the creators that brought you Drinking Buddy, see theircoffee web latest unveiling of Two Dollar Coffee Club – an application that allows coffee lovers to take advantage of daily $2 coffees from participating venues.
Josh O’Shaughnessy, the creator of daily meal deals and drink specials application Drinking Buddy, has over 40 years of family history in the South Australian hospitality industry, which has provided him with the background knowledge to launch his first successful application. Given the popularity of deal-sharing app Drinking Buddy, O’Shaughnessy saw a gap in the market for coffee drinkers.
“After starting Drinking Buddy I realised that the cost of advertising was becoming more and more expensive, and that for businesses in hospitality, it was very difficult to put together funds to promote themselves.
“Adelaide has a booming coffee culture and we wanted to give people something to take advantage of, with an application that benefits both customers and venues equally,” O’Shaughnessy says.
For an annual membership fee of $24, or $2 per month, Two Dollar Coffee Club members can claim daily $2 coffees from participating venues across Adelaide. With the easy-to-use application, subscribers show the app to the venue, click the ‘claim my coffee’ button, and they are done.
With coffee drinkers paying an average of $4 per cup, the subscription fee is quickly dissolved over the course of a week, with Coffee Club members paying $10.50 for their daily coffee, as compared to $20 per week for non-members, potentially saving hundreds of dollars per year.
Once a coffee has been purchased, the vendor can then send notifications to that member, letting them know about other fantastic offers, as well as advertise other offers on their application profile. Unlike other deal-sharing websites or social media advertising, Two Dollar Coffee Club allows venues to advertise without charging an additional set-up fee on top of the discount, with no pressure to apply a discount percentage on other low-margin products they choose to advertise.
According to application creator O’Shaughnessy, “Two Dollar Coffee Club is win-win for the patron and the venue. It is an extremely cost effective and a beneficial product for small venues to use without sacrificing turnover, and what coffee drinkers don’t love $2 coffees!”
