Aussie-Asian Eatery Opens In The Heart Of The CBD

Everyone knows the best time of the workday is lunchtime.

While we love what we do, we admittedly count down the minutes to the time we can hobble out of our office chairs, shake off those pins and needles from sitting too long, and deal with the challenge of choosing what to eat.

And the choice just got a tiny bit harder after fusion restaurant, Chu Chu, opened its doors today.

“We saw that people don’t have a lot of time, especially when working in the CBD,” said Daniel Chu, one of the masterminds behind Chu Chu. “And sometimes it’s easy to compromise on dining choices. But we knew that healthy doesn’t have to be boring.”

We never believed that statement more than when we laid eyes on the Chu Chu menu, which boasts an array of black sesame bun sandwiches, ciabatta rolls, rice bowls, and ramen noodles for lunch. They’ve even got vegan ramen for all our vegan and vego friends out there!

There’s also a Grab & Go menu which features all-day breakfast items, like the Benny Pocket, where a poached egg bathed in Kafir Hollandaise is paired with salmon and stuffed inside a soft “pocket” bun.

“Our Benny Pocket is sealed on one end to catch those devilish sauce drops that always try to find your pants, thus ruininig your day,” said Kym Reilly, co-creator of Chu Chu. “Less on the lap and more in the belly makes for a happy customer and a smaller dry cleaning bill!”

The drink menu includes frozen yoghurt and coconut water smoothies, iced coffee drinks, pots and single serves of 100% fair trade organic Tielka tea, and all-day coffee.

Chu Chu also focuses on using locally-sourced produce to ensure you get the freshest meals possible and to support local farmers.

Well, this eatery ticks all the lunch boxes for us! We’ll see you there!
