Australia’s legendary netball champions, Origin Diamonds, are set to take on Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls in February 2026, for the Summer Test Series.
This is the first time that the two elite teams will be competing in a standalone series since 2011, with their most recent clash at the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa. This time, die-hard fans can watch the two teams battle for the glory on Australian soil.
The Diamonds finished up strong in 2025, with the national team claiming a series victory over South Africa and reclaiming the Constellation Cup against New Zealand. Netball Australia CEO Stacey West says that the upcoming series will showcase netball’s best of the best across three major Australian cities, where they’ve garnered incredible support and seen sell-out crowds.
“Securing a standalone series against Jamaica for the first time since 2011 reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing high-quality international netball to our fans,” West shared online earlier this month.
“Jamaica have consistently challenged top teams and hosting them ensures the Diamonds experience the type of contest that brings out the best in our sport,” she said.
The series will open at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Thursday 5 February, 2026, before heading to Perth’s RAC arena on Sunday 8 February, and finishing at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Wednesday 11 February.
Origin Australia Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich echoed West’s statements, emphasising the importance of battling Jamaica in preparation for upcoming international events.
“We haven’t faced the Jamaican brand of netball since the World Cup, so we are very much looking forward to going up against their fast, physical and elusive style of play,” said Marinkovic, stating that the Summer Test Series is exactly the type of challenge their team needs, heading into 2026.
“As the final test series before the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, it gives us the chance to come together and take our learnings from our recent international series, and continue to build and gain momentum ahead of the Commonwealth Games,” said Marinkovic.
