Australian Canoe Polo Team on the Road to Milan and the World Championships!

Three teams made up of strong young Aussies are on their European Tour and on the way to the Canoe Polo World Championships in Milan!

Currently on the tour are the Australian Men’s team, who are number three in the world after competing in the 2009 World Games in Taiwan. The Australian Women’s team is also doing us proud recently winning the De Paddle competition against the current world champions – Great Britain. And last but certainly not least, are the Australian Under 21 Men’s team.

There are fourteen South Australians representing the City of Churches.They are Ian McIntosh, Anton Holmes, Luke Holmes, Chris Heard, Matt Schar,  Mathew Heard  (Coach), Sarah Cartwright, Steph Agnew, Ailsa Enting-Hawke, Siobhan Goble, Louise McIntosh,  Nathan Watson, Stephen Hubbard, and Sam Holt.

While the team members are dedicated to their sport, the members do not receive any government sponsorship or funding, with the tour being paid for out of their own pockets, costing each player upwards of $10,000.
