This week Oroton officially opens its newest boutique store in Adelaide’s East End, after a move from its old location in Rundle Mall.
It’s one of the latest stores to join the thriving hub of Australian labels along the strip, like Aje, Zimmerman, Cue, Veronika Maine, Viktoria & Woods, Assembly Label and more.
After the 90s and 00s fashion boom, Australian labels seemed to become less prominent, and household names started to give way to global and online brands. But, in the last few years we’ve started to see another wave of appreciation for local brands we know and trust.
Not only do Australian labels seem to capture effortless elegance in their designs, but many put more effort into their sustainable and ethical practices.
Oroton is no exception, and the label has grown significantly over the last year. In 2022 overall sales revenue grew 22% on the previous year to $97 million, with online sales up 31%.
While it used to be well known for its luxurious leather goods, the label now delivers much more, including a lifestyle and clothing range.
The new store on Rundle street reflects that with its warm and homely feel, showcasing new season ready-to-wear, bags and jewellery, alongside welcoming stylistic details including vintage collectibles, coffee table books, ceramics, and floral arrangements.
The retail space will serve as a hub for fashion, arts and community events – with intimate opening drinks on the 11th of August welcoming Oroton’s community to celebrate the launch.
In-store now, Oroton’s latest Spring 23 collection ‘Power To Bloom’, is inspired by the joy of spring, rejuvenation, and new beginnings – reinterpreting the spring season and timeless floral motif in a new light.
Mood-lifting hues and fresh botanical prints, the design team led by Creative Director, Sophie Holt, has translated a striking edit of primary colours, Poppy Red, Vibrant Yellow and Bright Jewel Green, set against a backdrop of the house’s favourite neutrals.
Joining Oroton’s other 40 or so boutiques across the country, this new store will no doubt be one to visit on your next stop along the strip.
