If you’re like me, you’re always looking for a good burger.
And now, the teams behind Burgertec and Good Gilbert have joined forces to create something extraordinary.
Located on Goodwood Road in Daw Park, Good Burger is a classic American diner and a chic neighbourhood bar, offering an elevated casual dining experience.
Good Burger, poised for its grand opening in February, is already giving locals a taste of what’s to come with a soft launch.
At the helm is Wilson Shawyer, who, along with Head Chef Ashley Peek, is reimagining the American-style burger joint. They’re infusing familiar comfort food with a modern, upscale twist, and the result is a menu that’s both innovative and tantalizing.
Take, for instance, the Daw Park cheeseburger. It’s a gourmet version of the American classic, featuring a potato bun, wagyu smash patty, raclette cheese, cornichons, and diced onion.
Each burger on the menu has its unique flair, like the ‘Old Blue’ with crispy pancetta and blue cheese mayo, or the ‘Special Poutine’ burger that’s a nod to the Canadian favorite.
But the allure of Good Burger extends beyond its burgers. The bar boasts a variety of wines, cocktails, beers, spirits, and spiked sodas, catering to all tastes.
Emphasising local produce, the menu includes cheese from renowned cheesemaker Kris Lloyd and features a special collaboration beer with Bridge Road Brewers. This dedication to quality and locality distinguishes Good Burger in Adelaide’s bustling food scene.
It comes after Good Gilbert was awarded Best Wine Bar in Australia in the 2023 Gourmet Traveller Annual Restaurants Awards.
Having opened in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Good Gilbert bucked the trend, launching their business in the toughest of times.
In an interview with Glam Adelaide last year, owner Wilson Sawyer said “For us, it’s just a testament to just how great our customer base is and how supportive they have been since day one… South Australian’s turned up, and they put us on the map.”
