Supermarkets certainly aren’t few and far between, and everyone has their personal preference whether you’re a Coles, Woolworths, Foodland, IGA or Aldi kind of person, we all have our reasons for why we love them.
What exactly is it about the customer experience we enjoy however, and has our key assessment criteria changed in recent times?
Following the hysteria we experienced in supermarkets in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the professional criterion has changed for measuring the satisfaction levels of shoppers and now has a pandemic-related measurable component.
A number of factors can attribute to a supermarket’s customer satisfaction rating in a standard setting, including how efficient and helpful staff are through the shopping experience and the quality of produce the store offers, however, the level of cleanliness and sanitisation methods is what will score you big time in the eyes of the 2021 shopper.
In a recent Australia-wide customer satisfaction survey by Choice, more than 3,100 supermarket shoppers were asked to provide feedback on their supermarket with a focus on COVID-19 safety measures to determine who was holding the standard highest.
The results are in and, impressively, – although we’re not surprising – South Australia has come out on top with a massive 82% customer satisfaction rating for SA-based Foodland who took the lead in the surveys results.
Closely following Foodland is SA/Qld-based Drakes with an impressive 79% customer satisfaction rating and NSW-based Harris Farm Markets with a 78% rating leaving competitors Aldi, Costco, IGA, FoodWorks, Woolworths, Coles and Friend Grocer not too far behind.
