You may have seen the enormous AFL Max warehouse bring built on the corner of Tapley’s Hill Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive at Adelaide Airport. We’ve certainly wondered what was going inside, and now we finally know.
AFL Max is Australia’s first immersive AFL skills and entertainment centre – and it looks AMAZING.
But what’s it all about you ask?
The brainchild of James Podsiadly (former Crows and Geelong Player), AFL Max is all about taking the Australian footy experience to the next level.
Together with co-founders Darren Thomas and Eddie Taylor, Pods’ vision was to build a safe and interactive venue where all people feel welcome. And there was no better partner than one of the most inclusive sports in the world, the AFL, to help that vision become a reality.
Today, almost three years in the making, and backed by some of the biggest names in the sport, AFL Max is an indoor 5500m² family entertainment and training facility.
The Centre merges state of the art technology and traditional skills development with fun for all ages.
At AFL Max players and fans of AFL get to test themselves against bespoke kicking, passing, fitness and tackling activations to enhance their skills. Alongside AFL challenges, the centre includes a virtual reality zone, climbing walls and soft play areas.
There is nothing else like it anywhere in Australia!
Further, it has been designed for whole of the community use where the common bond is a love of Australian rules football. Whether you want to come in with the whole family and watch a game live while the kids play or you want to improve your football skills, AFL Max caters for all.
With a bar, café and stadium style seating surrounding the main playing arena, its fun and exciting and a great way to spend time with your friends and family.
And yes, they also do kids parties, and have a board room you can book.
