Heard of Auxilla? If not, it’s about time you had!
The five piece Adelaide band merge sounds from post-rock, dance rock and indie influences described as a mix of “indie dance progressive”(Matthew Vecciho, Matthew Vecciho Music) to create an individual sound not common for the Adelaide live music scene.
These guys have shone on more than one occasion, most recently playing at Higher Ground’s Shimmering West Fringe venue, cutting off the power on three occasions. Such a setback was merely encouragement for a bigger and better show – the music and performance continued to the delight of the packed out venue. Auxilla have supported many local, interstate and international bands including Foals (UK) and I Know Leopard (Syd) at the Laneway after party; World’s End Press (Melb); Streetlight Symphony (Adel); and Mammoth Logic (Adel) to name a few.
Auxilla’s list of achievements does not end there. In their short time on Adelaide’s live music scene they were invited to feature on Radio Adelaide’s Local Noise where they performed live on air and have featured in Lip Magazine (written by Dunja Nedic). Boosting their egos just that little bit more, Adelaide’s 6 on the street recently approached the band to feature in a 6 minute doco shared across many media avenues in Adelaide and Australia.
Friday May 6th marks the official release date of Auxilla’s 6 on the Street doco.
See Auxilla perform live alongside Bokchoy Boys and new comers, Moonwaves on Friday May 6th at the Jade Monkey. Proudly presented by Matthew Vecchio Music and upcoming event lighting designer Tomass Begg, Auxilla will be up for some celebrating – set to go off with a full light show!
