Award winning musical masterpiece, An American In Paris makes its way to Adelaide to delight audiences.

New Adelaide dates have been secured for the award winning musical, An American In Paris, from the 24 January 2023 for a new strictly limited season.

Adelaide audiences will now be able to join Australia in the celebration of this theatrical masterpiece as the musical makes its way across the country.

The production has already set Brisbane alight with packed houses and rave reviews and the musical will also bring its lavishness this month in Melbourne before moving to Sydney and Perth.

The Tony award winning musical tells the story of a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in the most romantic city in the world. An American in Paris, inspired by the Academy Award-winning film puts director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon centre stage, bringing the magic of Paris to life. The timeless love story is set to popular songs from George and Ira Gershwin including S Wonderful, I Got Rhythm, But Not For Me and They Can’t Take That Away From Me.

The lavish choreography and lush ballet performances makes for a breathtaking mix of theatrical performance and story telling that Christopher Wheeldon is known best for.

In 2015, Christopher won the Tony Award for Best Choreographer for An American In Paris, followed by the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography and the Outer Cities Circle Award for Outstanding Director of a Musical. Needless to say, An American in Paris is set to bring some of theatre’s very best down under.

After having to postpone the initial February 2022 season due to COVID restrictions, South Australia have ensured the return of theatre and musical events across the state, with city goers recently flocking to fringe and music festivals with the lifted dancing restrictions.

Existing ticket holders are being contacted since the rescheduling, with tickets for the new dates now on sale.

The new season is set to hit Adelaide from the 24^th of January 2023 with new tickets now on sale.
