One of Australia’s most progressive winemakers, Owen Latta of LATTA and Eastern Peake, is heading to Leigh Street Wine Room this June for a special evening of food, wine, and the history behind his latest releases.
On Wednesday, June 25th, the celebrated winemaker will be showcasing ten of his latest releases, paired with a six-course menu curated by Head Chef Andrew Ferrara.
Owen Latta’s reputation in the wine world precedes him. Crowned Gourmet Traveller Wine’s Young Winemaker of the Year in 2018, he’s the driving force behind two distinctly different labels. Eastern Peake, located in Coghills Creek in Victoria, focuses on organic, single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while Latta Vino allows Owen the freedom to experiment with alternative varietals and more natural, low-intervention winemaking techniques that reflect the unique terroir of Western and Central Victoria.
Owen’s journey started early. He made his first Pinot Noir at just 15 in his family’s winery, and now, over two decades later, he’s celebrating his 27th vintage. His commitment to sustainability, soil health, and expressive wines has positioned him at the forefront of Australia’s new-wave wine movement and shapes every bottle he produces.
Leigh Street Wine Room, nestled in Adelaide’s west end, is a destination in its own right. Known for its gallery-like interiors, arched ceilings, and ever-evolving 400+ bottle wine list, the venue is a love letter to the wine bars of Paris, Rome, and New York.
With warm hospitality and a kitchen led by Ferrara that favours seasonal, elevated simplicity, this will be a night food and wine aficionados won’t want to miss.
