Catching up with friends at Bacchus Bar, having a platter, and enjoy drinks while watching the sun set over the sea, is a Henley Beach tradition. It’s been around for as long as I can remember, and it seems, the Bacchus decor has been around for pretty much just as long. But in the most exciting news to come out of beachfront sessions for some time now, CHANGE IS HERE.
For the last two weeks, Bacchus quietly closed their doors and got their hands dirty, completely transforming the venue into a light, bright coastal haven.
The dark interior and blue walls are gone, and the original brick has been exposed, giving the beachy bar a more welcoming vibe, with an earthy, warehouse feel.
An old window on the CIBO side has been reclaimed, flooding the venue with a light and a totally new ambiance, while potted plants bring a freshness to the destination, which was formerly lacking.
Vintage pendant lights, woven light fittings, wooden ceiling fans and festoon lighting all bring a sense of occasion to Bacchus, while new furniture, brighter table tops, and more versatile seating options all welcome you in.
It’s now the perfect place to chill out, have a coffee, or settle in for an afternoon, while enjoying their epic views.
The platters and drinks that Bacchus are famous for are still all on offer, with some new platters bringing diners even more options. There’s a $70 seafood platter for two, which screams Summer sessions, and a new SA cheese grazing platter, which features five Woodside cheeses along with plenty of other nibbles, perfect for an afternoon with friends. Their famed Sunset platter and breakfast platter (weekends only) are still on the menu, with plenty more to enjoy.
The new renovations were unveiled yesterday, just in time for Springtime at the beach. See you there!
Bacchus Bar is located in Henley Square, Henley Beach SA.
